Blimp Pics Aerial Photography captures and creates
Two Types of Aerial Panoramas
A cylindrical panorama is intended to be viewed as if curved around the inside of a cylindrical surface with the spectator as the centre.
Viewers for displaying panoramic images on the Internet or stand alone flat panel are designed to display the panoramas as flat. Interactive controls such as panning left or right, full screen, zoom, speed and up/down panning are set by the viewer software. Typically left or right panning is 360 degrees and up/down is determined by the height of the image or cylinder.
Since our aerial cylindrical panoramas are made up of many stitched high resolution images, zooming in or going full screen still offers a great amount of detail. This is especially true with stand alone digital displays where the image size is not constrained by the download time of the internet.
The most common use is to display future views from specific floors of a condominium or office tower high rise.
A spherical panorama is intended to be viewed as if wrapped around the surface of a ball with the spectator at its centre.
Viewers are absolutely needed to make any sense of these images due to the pre-distortion needed to wrap these multiple stitched images into a sphere.
Viewers for displaying spherical panoramic images on the Internet or stand alone flat panel are designed to display the panoramas as flat. Interactive controls such as panning, full screen, zoom, speed and any automation are set by the viewer software. Panning can be done in a complete 360 degrees and in any direction.
Since Blimp Pics can capture and create these aerial panoramas from almost any altitude an amazing effect is gained by the ability to look straight down and all around while being suspended in mid-air.
The most common use for these spherical panoramas are theme parks, tourism and any area where prospective visitors can get a true sense of the entire surroundings.
